Our mission is:
To increase awareness and prevention of acquired brain injury (ABI) in Canada, and to improve the quality of life of Canadians living with brain injury, through funding of academic research and innovative outreach programs and services.
Our vision is threefold:
- To increase public awareness and prevention of acquired brain injury through targeted communication programs with media, ski industry sponsors, corporate donors, and through publicity during the DIFFBI Annual Dash-for-Cash Ski and Snowboard Challenge events.
- To increase the level of understanding and knowledge of acquired brain injury, and to improve the proficiency of treatment of brain injured persons through the funding of further academic research by leading neuroscientists into all aspects of acquired brain injury, prevention, rehabilitation and treatment through the awarding of "Summit for Acquired Brain Injury" Research Grants.
- To award "Dave Irwin Foundation for Brain Injury" Grants to assist organizations which provide rehabilitation and community outreach support services to acquired brain injured Canadians through advocacy, education, and rehabilitation.
